Never ceases to amaze us that, 20 years after the fact, media pundits who enthusiastically advocated for the Iraq war are still much sought after for their opinions by the likes of CNN, MSNBC, NYT, FOX ETC.

Thomas Friedman is a case in point.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that this:

disqualifies you from any future public discourse but how about, at the very least, a mea fucking culpa.

ADG7 might create traditional minyo music from Hwanghae-do in South Korea but it has a slight feel of late 70’s / early 80’s no wave / alternative / post-punk. So, naturally, we love it.

File this under “things you never knew you wanted” – a punk rock opera based on Lethal Weapon 2, courtesy of Boyle Heights. If you desire a physical copy it’s available on VHS only. The 10 song / 14 minute package acts as a soundtrack to the band recreating their favourite scenes from the 1989 movie.

The Show: Well that’s gentrification you prick

The Show: If I saw you on the street…

Listen hard to today’s show and you’ll catch a sly throwback to Alvvays’ “Dreams Tonite” in the Saint Jude track.

We’d love to say there’s a rich history of artists deliberately referencing someone else’s lyrics within their own original song. Unfortunately the only other one we can think of is “Hello” by Oasis using a line or two from Gary Glitter and… well… you know… maybe cutting another musician in on your massive royalty cheque is not always the best idea.
