Dock Ellis & The LSD No No: we played the audio of this fantastic video on the show today. No Mas and James Blagden has ingeniously animated the legendary tale of American baseball pitcher Dock Ellis who is best remembered for the claim that he threw a no-hitter in 1970 while under the influence of LSD. Lovely video.
Erratum: Fraserhead is a dumbass for saying “Spiritualized never fail to disappoint” when, in fact, he meant the complete opposite. Sorry Jason Spaceman. (Thank goodness for podcasts – The Herb Whisperer might be able to delete the incriminating evidence.)

Thank goodness for the podcast – we can edit out all the cock ups from today’s show. Our minds wandering because there was no coffee at the station and we had one eye on this evening’s New Zealand vs Bahrain game in Wellington (we’re flying up after the show and will have a few brandies at The Matterhorn for you).

We’re confused as to why the track was credited to the Spirit House Movers when further investigation revealed the group to be The Jihad. We promised to play samples of British Scottish British Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle during the last hour of the show, in light of the BBC Trust’s recent ruling on his remarks about Rebecca Adlington on Mock The Week. However these slivers of comedy gold need to carefully nurtured and not thrown into the mix in a slapdash fashion. So maybe next week, in the meantime….
