The show: Only mildly affected by FIFA sleep deprivation and vuvuzelas

As promised during the show here’s the link to download the King Midas Sound mix from FACT magazine last year.

Why Zidane really chestbutted Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup Final

Whilst we were on the subject of vuvuzelas, test your tolerance here.

The show: Above Tatra bolts of lightning, thunderstorm pounds wildly.

As the 2010 World Cup kicks off next Saturday this could be the last, lucid, cohesive show for a month.

The All Whites play their first match of the tournament against Slovakia. Working on the purely logical basis that a national anthem can act as the twelfth man it seems that Slovakia could run out 2-1 winners. How’s this for staunch lyrics ???

Above Tatra bolts of lightning, thunderstorm pounds wildly.
Let’s stop them brothers, they will be lost, Slovaks will rise alive.
Our Slovakia was in deep sleep until now.
But thunder’s lightning is shaking it to it’s revival.
Slovak national anthem

Though it’s not as hardcore as the Serbian national anthem which mentions Ak-47s, armoured personnel carriers, ultras, and knitting.

Maybe it’s time to drop the nationalism and go for something a bit more lateral? We nominate “Kicker Conspiracy” by The Fall to be played at all international matches.

The show: Just a show about пинг-понг

If you’re not staying in to watch the table tennis then you might like to head along to The Dux tonight to see Permanence for their annual Ian Curtis tribute.

But if all the Manchester revival hype is doing your head in then pop over to Fuc51 for an alternative view.

Whilst we’re on the subject of Guy Ritchie: Snatch Wars – Brick Top vs Darth Vader

It’s not that were weren’t giving the show our full attention last weekend, it’s just that we came across this entirely by accident. It must have been when we were researching something musical about some musician. Or something.
