The Show: The Tranquillusionist

We didn’t completely do it justice but on today’s show we wanted to highlight Helen Zaltzman’s rebranding of her Allusionist podcast as the Tranquillusionist.

Designed to soothe rather than provoke, the shows so far include a monologue of punchlines to well known jokes and another composed of the lyrics to “Imagine” but deconstructed in backwards alphabetical order.

Our favourite though is the reading of a list of the Westminster Kennel Club Best In Show winners from 1907 all the way through to this year. Much respect to Warren Remedy, the only dog to have won Westminster three years in a row.

The Show: Are you the goddamn Coronavirus?

This week’s show was put together quickly, incorporating large chunks of Conan O’Brien’s Self-Quarantine podcast (featuring Andy Daly) and huge swathes of the 2020 BBC Radio 6 Music Festival.

However, the time we saved was put to good use. We managed to get in 8 – 10 solid hours of worrying about the future of the world. Job done.
