As part of our continuing trawl through The Joint audio vaults for previously unpodcasted shows, we present the first and final hour of a three hour programme that went to air on the 26th May 2007.
For the youngsters listening, an 80Gb iPod (mentioned at the 58:25 point) was an early 21st century music player that stored a meagre 20,000 songs, had no wifi or 4G connectivity and couldn’t even take photos. We’re talking the digital music Dark Ages.
This is a heavily edited show – we had to cut out chunks of audio because of a dodgy microphone and, more impressively, interference caused by the transmitter overheating in the blazing Canterbury sun. Global warming my arse.
Fraserhead would like to thank Bamboozle for his White Light Mix #73 for introducing him to the wonderful Jesse Boykins III. Have a peek at the video below for “B4 The Night Is Thru”. Looks like they go to some crazy parties.
We’ve recommended a bunch of other videos during the show so here goes…
ABOUT THE JOINT
Hosts THE HERB WHISPERER and FRASERHEAD go all over the shop with an eclectic, left-field, and off-kilter selection of cosmic disco, electro, indie, hip-hop, house, dub, and anything with a motorik vibe, plus the occasional guilty pleasure. If the radio sounds broken chances are it’s the THE JOINT.
