The Show: King Rocker

It’s a long overdue debut for The Nightingales on The Joint. They have been at the front of our musical mind for the last month. Partly because their frontman, Robert Lloyd, is the subject of a new documentary but also because their new song, Gales Doc, is a wonderful tune and a metacommentary (sorry) on said film.

If anyone can let us know where we can legitimately grab or stream a copy of this movie in New Zealand, let us know. We’ve e-mailed various companies involved in its creation but had no response so far.

The Show: Bloody Anglo-Saxons. Coming over here.

We’d love to be able to present you with a video of the Stewart Lee bit that was sampled on today’s last song courtesy of Asian Dub Foundation.

But we can’t.

The best we can manage is a slightly (deliberately?) wonky clip on  Daily Motion. So you’ll just have to close your eyes for four minutes whilst the picture is frozen but the audio keeps rolling.
