After the Xmas silliness finally a chance to catch up on the backlog as well as throw our favourite outliers into the mix. Today’s wildcard entry is courtesy of Shit and Shine who miraculously turn a Caddyshack gag into a stonking, percussive, distorted 10-minute breakbeat epic dedicated to the power of golf and centeredness.
If we ever get round to organising a yard party then we’ll be sure to get Shit and Shine to play a set. Here’s what it would look and sound like…
“We’re not cutting edge… we’re the clean up crew.”
That’s Fraserhead’s description of the show on-air today. It’s true. We’re the last to arrive at musical crime scenes, handling the hazardous tunes other shows have left (way) behind. RDU’s very own Sunshine Cleaning team.
No time for a cone of silence today but RIP Chris Kelly aka Mac Daddy.
On the show today Fraserhead mines a rich vein of Christchurch music from the likes of Yvnalesca, Pinn’d, Haan-808, The Salad Boys and Misfit Mod whilst The Herb Whisperer trawls through the debris of Record Store Day 2013 – The Uncluded (see video below) being the undoubted highlight. Also listen out for new shiz from King Midas Sound, !!!, and Ben La Desh.
No animals were harmed in the making of this video, but some of the animals must have been harmed at some point.
Fraserhead here. I’m on my own today. It’s been pouring with rain and Sudafed is pumping through my veins. Which makes this brand new Shacklock Meth Party single “Vaccination Day” all the more poignant.
