Blackpool Rocks

“A Seaside Ting”

No idea what to make of Blackpool grime but Blackpool grime makes it into the show, courtesy of Afghan Dan. He’s also responsible for the most telling / affecting quote from this Noisey documentary – “That’s not really talent, that’s survival” – at the five and a half minute mark.

If you’re keen to dig deeper into the sends, disses and beefs described above let us refer you to the YouTube channel BGMedia, the one-stop shop for all your Blackpool grime needs.

The Show: “Must we fling this filth at our pop kids?”

The Sunday People asked that question of the NME in 1973 and we’re asking the same question of ourselves in 2017.

And the answer is yes. Yes, we must fling this filth at our pop kids.

So thank you to Sexit, cupcakKe and Sälen for some particularly filthy flinging.

The Show: The weird and wonderful world of…

A quick round up…

The NWA movie “Straight Outta Compton” hits the big screen in the next week but if you don’t have $17 to spare for a movie ticket or are too busy to spend 147 minutes sitting in a cinema get the gist with the EXPLICIT CONTENT ONLY version of the classic album. One for the whole family to sing along to. Is “nuts” really a swear word though?!?!?!?!?

Before people queued up for Apple products they queued up for Microsoft software. Not a bad earner for the Rolling Stones. Strange days from 1995…

Lord Echo at the Christchurch Arts Festival tonight! Be bloody aware of large freaking eels though. If you’re on epic acid you’re not imagining it. That’s the power of art.
