In English, Scandinavia usually refers to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
When a speaker wants to explicitly include Finland alongside Scandinavia-proper, the geographic terms Fenno-Scandinavia or Fennoscandia are sometimes used in English, although these terms are hardly if at all used within Scandinavia.
More precisely, and subject to no dispute, is that Finland is included in the broader term ‘Nordic countries’.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Happy birthday Herb Whisperer. Hope you like the BROS picture disc.
Last night we met with The Joint advisory board. It was an informal and relaxed meeting where we discussed the future of the show. In a bid to increase listener pleasure 37% per annum our board suggested that we follow the lead of the Government and the Christchurch City Council by conducting partial asset sales. This will take the form of us handing over part of the show (a maximum of 49%) to guest hosts, or investors if you will.
For that reason local duo Reach and Offset aka Reset, who also happen to be the proprietors of the Averted Vision record label, are back today for a guest mix.
Thank you Reset aka Reach + Offset for popping into the show today to play a guest set. The boys are launching their new record label Averted Vision tomorrow night at Dux Live. The first label release is Vrak & JP’s Thunderstorm EP.

Some stars are serious about being not serious and some stars are not serious about being serious. Our favourite Canadian Tiga doesn’t seem to care too much and lets the sock puppets in his head do the talking. Watch the video above for some excellent DIY media and PR training.
Not only should we thank them for letting us know the song is available as a free download from their website, we are also eternally grateful that they sent us this link to a George Galloway interview that appeared on Sky News UK recently. It’s not a spectacle for the fainthearted, as the Respect MP tears strips off the hapless journalist to the point where he comes across as a misogynistic bully.
We can’t imagine Rupert Murdoch was amused and it certainly wouldn’t have gone to air on Rupert’s other news channel, Fox. Unless George went up against Bill O’Reilly. That really would be a heavyweight challenge. So much so that it could be made the equivalent of a pay-per-view prizefight. We’re willing to cough up a few bucks to watch so let’s start lobbying for it now.
And thank you to The Nicol Brothers aka Offset and Hank for dropping in today to lay down a few drum’n’bass sets. Cheers fellas.
