The Show: Christchurch – Ōtautahi 2017… the year in review

Today it’s a review of the year in music from Christchurch – Ōtautahi featuring some of our favourite releases throughout 2017.

We couldn’t quite fit them all in, some may not strictly have been made in “Christchurch”, and there are some tracks that were produced earlier than 2017 but only saw the light of this day this year, but we’re sure you get the gist.

And because we like to get a bit OCD on it – and also to avoid ranking art – the setlist features the artists in chronological order of track release…

Suckers stare but I don’t care

Lots of bleeps and beats and washing machine rhythms today with not too many vocals or words spoken. Starting off with the funk, then delving into the techno, a hip hop interlude, and then finishing off with the mellow and melancholic.
