The Show: In ill-fitting Rupert The Bear trousers.

Video of the week goes to Geno Pacino – partly because it’s a timely, seasonal reminder to start digging out the Vince Guaraldi vinyl

Or is video of the week Hedda Mae’s homage to various other 90’s and 00’s music clips?

And on with the show…

The Show: An ostrich in a soda siphon

Letting our freak flag fly today by using Hawkwind’s “Assault & Battery (Part One)” as the last tune on the show, but it’s not an original idea. The inspiration came from the closing credits of  “Satire”, part of the third season of Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle which aired in the UK a couple of weeks ago…

The Show: Fricking piranhas (without laser weapons)

Guns. Gyrocopters. G Plan armchair. Stroked white pussycat. Ninjas. Spaceships. Secret base in a volcano. And fricking piranhas WITHOUT laser weapons on their heads. Fricking. Piranhas. Only Roald Dahl could have written it. And only Sean Connery could have fronted it without laughing. Genius. Evil genius. That’s right – it’s You Only Live Twice

And if that’s got you interested in celluloid we’ll be seeing you at the New Zealand International Film Festival which starts this Thursday in Christchurch.
