It was 10 years ago yesterday – Part 3

After our third trawl through The Joint audio vaults for previously unpodcasted shows, we present the entire 3 hour show that was first broadcast on 29th September 2007 (as opposed to the heavily edited version that went out on 8k earlier today).

There are constant references to “Myspace” websites and “peer to peer” networks but, quite frankly, we have no recollection of what any of those phrases mean.

The Show: I’m a prisoner. I’m a copier. I’m a repeater. I’m a follower.

Always fun to find a tenuous reason to stick a Martin Creed video in the blog.

Well, not that tenuous really. A Martin Creed triple play features in the middle of the show today and is bookended by our signature selection of atmospheric beats, off-kilter house, washing machine techno and fragile ballads.

Damn. Forgot to somehow insert The Woodsman (from Twin Peaks) into the show. Oh well. That can keep for next week.

The Show: Right-winging, bitter-clinging, proud clingers

OMG. Coco Solid and Disasteradio stole Ladyhawke’s convertible and went on an electropop bender!!!

It’s funny. When we meet our listeners in person the dreaded “How do you prepare for the show?” question* usually arises. In the interests of transparency this Emmanuelle video is a pretty accurate representation of our pre-show rituals…

* It’s not really a dreaded question.

The show: Saturday 2 October 2010

Cool. New Disasteradio album Charisma is released 15 October 2010. Even better, you can get a free download of “Drop the Bomb” over at A Low Hum.

Here’s that Doug Stanhope clip we alluded to. For those of you who find dubstep depressing on a sunny day, then you’re probably the sort of person who might find this a bit tasteless…

On a more serious matter, here’s a very important message from James Dann aka Ed Muzik about the Christchurch local body elections:
