After our third trawl through The Joint audio vaults for previously unpodcasted shows, we present the entire 3 hour show that was first broadcast on 29th September 2007 (as opposed to the heavily edited version that went out on 8k earlier today).
There are constant references to “Myspace” websites and “peer to peer” networks but, quite frankly, we have no recollection of what any of those phrases mean.
Once again we struggled to come to terms with some of the new technology at our disposal in the relaunched RDU studio, so the show didn’t really get underway until 12:30. Some would say our obsession to set up cowbells next to the mixing desk caused the delay but they need to take a good, long, hard look at themselves. Priorities, people. Priorities.
Yesterday was the 25th anniversary of the release of Beastie Boys’ epic “Paul’s Boutique”. Time flies. This morning Dangerous Minds marked the anniversary by reminding us of the 2012 Caught In The Middle Of A 3-Way Mix, an amazing deconstruction/reconstruction of “Paul’s Boutique” by the Solid Steel DJs Cheeba, Moneyshot and Food. Forget listening to us, have a listen to them below!

Scientist Wins The World Cup (1982, Greensleeves)
Turns out that the Scientist album “Scientist Wins The World Cup” was indeed released in 1982. Bloody prolific that fella. More about him here. And that’s probably all we’ll say about the World Cup from now on.
Here’s the playlist in full (and that is the disturbing Uncle Vic staring out at you)…
ABOUT THE JOINT
Hosts THE HERB WHISPERER and FRASERHEAD go all over the shop with an eclectic, left-field, and off-kilter selection of cosmic disco, electro, indie, hip-hop, house, dub, and anything with a motorik vibe, plus the occasional guilty pleasure. If the radio sounds broken chances are it’s the THE JOINT.
