The Show: Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide

The Herb Whisperer is away in Melbourne on a very secret mission so Fraserhead is on his own today. Will he be able to last the distance?

Speaking of stamina, the video for the new Vitalic single “Stamina” is well worth a look. Very freaky. Not as freaky as Die Antwoord’s “Fatty Boom Boom” but freaky nonetheless…

The Show: Live from the MM’s Bar (In Coach F)

Do you like your liquorice salty or your licorice sweet?

Next something to do next weekend? RDU’s Hauswerk presents Frank Booker at The Monday Room next Saturday night 20 October 2012. We’re away next Saturday but the good news is that Hauswerk’s John Ussher will be filling in for us. Mr Ussher is keen to bust out some classic hip hop, trip hop, downbeat tunes as well as some classic soul.

The show: Here comes the summer

We promised you an early summer and as soon as we played the sifty indie tunes the weather closed in and we got some rain. However, right on cue as soon as played the Grandaddy classic “Summer Here Kids” the sun reappeared. Who could ask for more?

The Show: Did we say that we’ve never played Skrillex?

I don’t think we’ve ever played Skrillex on the show before. Maybe that changed today. Does Dog Blood count? If so, sorry Kenny if you’re listening.

Need something to do tonight? Then head along to the Sexy Animals gig at The Wunderbar. Not sure what to expect? The gig poster below might give you some sifty clues…

The Show: Slowly catching up

Like I was saying on the show last week, I’m so far behind on music releases it’s just not funny anymore. I’ve missed some really good stuff over the last year.

However, thanks to Dave Imlay at Galaxy Records I got to have a listen to The Golden Awesome‘s album “Autumn” which was released November 2011 by M’Lady’s Records and must have got an NZ release earlier this year. One for all shoegaze freaks.
