RIP David Robert Jones (1947 – 2016)

The Joint curse strikes again ™.

Early yesterday evening I emailed The Herb Whisperer about David Bowie’s new “Blackstar” album and said this “doesn’t sound near-death like the last album.”

Half an hour later David Bowie’s death was announced.

Feel like a right jinxing cnut now.

RIP Mr Jones.

RIP Donna Summer (1948 – 2012)

No one did sultry like Donna Summer did. And teaming up with Giorgio Moroder was a stroke of genius. A real musical match made in heaven. “I Feel Love” is one of the all time classics.

If you ever wondered what we do when the microphones are switched off and the music is playing, this video for “Love To Love You Baby” from 1975 will give you an idea of our super smooth moves.

RIP Guru (1966 – 2010)

Just as we’re doing the Goodnight Kiwi thing, news is coming through that Guru from Gang Starr has apparently passed away.

No confirmation yet at NME, Pitchforkmedia or other major news sites…

… but we wake up the next day and, unfortunately, it is now confirmed.

RIP Malcolm McLaren (1946-2010)

Stealing things is a glorious occupation, particularly in the art world…
