Hairdresser on Fire presents Moonage Daydream this Saturday night 4 December 2010 at Goodbye Blue Monday.
Freak out to the music of David Bowie and other glam rock with DJs Queen Bitch, The Goblin King and Lady Stardust.
The music starts at 10pm and it’s free !!!
On the show on Saturday when Hairdresser on Fire dropped in we briefly talked about David Bowie and codpieces and Labyrinth. 1986 was possibly Bowie’s weirdest ever year – having to act and sing in a movie with muppets and Jennifer Connelly’s monobrow and a fat baby. Strange times indeed.
The Dux de Lux RounDUp 2010 heats are on this weekend down at the Dux de Lux. There’s a record number of entries despite these earthquake stricken times. Too many bands to list here so have a peek at the Facebook page for full details. Saturday heats start at 9.45am and run until 6pm. Sunday heats start at 10am and run until 6pm.

- Taken from the toilet door during a recent Rufus Wainwright concert
If The Herb Whisperer had read the most recent edition of Popbitch before heading off to see Rufus Wainwright he would have been forewarned of the demands placed by Rufus upon his audience. Therefore he would not have felt it necessary to remove the above sign from the toilet doors of the James Hay Theatre in a mild hissy fit.
Still, the second set was alright.
You thought that Christchurch had heard – and had – enough of The Smiths but you were wrong. Very wrong.
On Saturday 14th of August at Goodbye Blue Monday DJs Hairdresser on Fire and Wilde Oscillation will be hosting their Hang The DJ evening and playing music by The Smiths and Mozzer for your aural entertainment. No cover charge but you are delightfully encouraged to bring your own gladioli to prance around with.
