The show: Ninja ninja ninja ninja

Real ninjas apparently.
Real ninjas apparently. If only they had used cowbells.

Ninjas? Yes ninjas.

In The Daily Download the NME occasionally features a record label. Earlier this week it was the turn of the legendary Ninja Tune. NME’s Tim Chester presents some exclusive freebies.

Hard to believe that Ninja Tune has been around for 20 years. Have a peek at the celebrations going on at www.ninjatunexx.com.

Ed Muzik “Pump up the volume”

Ed Muzik - Pump up the volume.

Fresh from an NZ tour or a custodial sentence or a football injury at the start of a new season trying to be the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic (we suspect it could be all of the above), the latest track from Ed Muzik is “Pump up the volume” (it’s a freebie so go and get it).

Ed – don’t know if you’re reading this – “Pump up the volume” track seriously needs a Snap extended megamix to do it even more justice (excuse the pun). It finishes too soon.

For more Pump Up The Volume dirtiness go and see Ed Muzik, Rare Shot Blue and special guest Hera at The Dux de Lux, Thursday 20 May. Free entry. (But not “free champagne upon entry” like those dodgy motel honeymoon specials).

The show: Radical change makes instant 33% improvement to The Joint

For the next six months The Joint will finish at 2pm rather than 3pm so that we can make space in the RDU schedule for the new Seeded radio series.

That’s right – a whole 33% increase in performance by lopping an hour off the show! Don’t know why we didn’t think of it before. Means we’ll be able to make the most of the late afternoon sun in winter because you don’t want us getting Seasonal Affective Disorder do ya?

The return of Atari Teenage Riot

It was only last month that we were getting all nostalgic and teary-eyed over Alec Empire as we sat around the Joint mansion in our Digital Hardcore dressing gowns and Bomb 20 slippers.

Little did we know that, as we taking a stroll down memory lane, Atari Teenage Riot were re-convening in a studio to record their first new material in a decade and planning some comeback shows.

The single can be downloaded from RCRDLBL for free.

If you’re in the mood for something a little more mellow try the Digital Hardcore 2010 dubstep remix streaming right now over at Soundcloud.

The show: Sifty, dirty and fuzzed out

Mulchzoid Message Deleted album free download
