Out at Bottle Lake amongst the Pinus radiata, the Cordyline Australis, the Dodonaea viscosa, and the Malva, but not the Platanus occidentalis.

Whereby Fraserhead ponders the meaning of the universe after spending the last few weeks working in a pine plantation and listening continuously to the reckonings of Bill Callahan and drones of Dylan Carlson on high rotate. Healthy? Sure. What could possibly go wrong in the clear, brisk, cool country air?

Footnotes for today’s show:

* Found ourselves humming the riff of the new 1975 song over & over, wondering why it sounded so very familiar. Once we stopped humming we realised that they may have been “inspired” by Joy Division’s “Disorder” and then compressed that riff through the Pro Tools Bumblebee In A Lift Shaft Audio Filter©.

** Finally have a reason to sneak in a tune from the (very much) underground “Love Is A Drag” album from the early 1960’s. A jazz standard sung by a man for a man seems the perfect counterpoint to the startling “there is no homosexuality in Russia, just men who are addicted to sex” comment that precedes it.
