The Show: Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide

The Herb Whisperer is away in Melbourne on a very secret mission so Fraserhead is on his own today. Will he be able to last the distance?

Speaking of stamina, the video for the new Vitalic single “Stamina” is well worth a look. Very freaky. Not as freaky as Die Antwoord’s “Fatty Boom Boom” but freaky nonetheless…

The Show: D.I.Y.

No representation from us this week. Instead we left you in the dexterous hands of Mr. John Ussher from Hauswerk, who enthralled us with dance tunes with squeaky toy rhythms and made us swoon with a trip down The Pharcyde memory lane.

If you were pining for our usual playlist, feel free to create your own by mixing and matching from the following three Joint staple ingredients.

1) Disco

Courtesy of Giorgio Moroder who keeps uploading unreleased tracks, spanning his entire career, to Soundcloud

2) Noise

Courtesy of Alec Empire with a mix he did for Dim Mak records. If we’re not mistaken Max Keiser and Stacey Herbert, old friends of The Joint, make an appearance at some point.

3) Offence

Courtesy of Die Antwoord who are continuing their recent track record of making the most unsettling videos since the heyday of Chris Cunningham.

The Show: Live from the MM’s Bar (In Coach F)

Do you like your liquorice salty or your licorice sweet?

Next something to do next weekend? RDU’s Hauswerk presents Frank Booker at The Monday Room next Saturday night 20 October 2012. We’re away next Saturday but the good news is that Hauswerk’s John Ussher will be filling in for us. Mr Ussher is keen to bust out some classic hip hop, trip hop, downbeat tunes as well as some classic soul.

The show: Here comes the summer

We promised you an early summer and as soon as we played the sifty indie tunes the weather closed in and we got some rain. However, right on cue as soon as played the Grandaddy classic “Summer Here Kids” the sun reappeared. Who could ask for more?
