Jet Jaguar is our special guest star this Saturday!

Wow. For once all that stalking paid off!

Jet Jaguar aka Michael Upton is dropping into The Joint this Saturday to play some of his new tunes.

As well as appearing to be the politest person in the NZ music “scene” Jet Jaguar has been making classy mellow beats forever (well, since 1996 – check his discography). We promise to be nice to him.

Linky dinks…

The xx “Crystalised”

Been a bit out of touch with music for the last month but recently captivated by The xx.

Discovered them via Carles at HRO who was ripping the piss out of the video for “Crystalised”. I was rolling my eyes for the first 30 seconds and was then hooked and hypnotised. Nice and sparse. I like calling them PJ Division or Joy Harvey for fun (but that’s not very funny). Check out their myspace for their brilliant cover of Womack and Womack’s “Teardrops”!

Put this in your diary now! Permanence (Joy Division covers project) at The Dux on Saturday 16 May 2009
