Fraserhead would like to thank Bamboozle for his White Light Mix #73 for introducing him to the wonderful Jesse Boykins III. Have a peek at the video below for “B4 The Night Is Thru”. Looks like they go to some crazy parties.
We’ve recommended a bunch of other videos during the show so here goes…
I quite like the new Bailterspace album “Strobosphere”. One of my favourite bands of all time. The new album brings back good memories of their Christchurch gigs in the late 1980s and early 1990s, possibly the loudest gigs I’ve ever been to.
Bailterspace have been based in NYC for many years now so I never thought I would get to see them play live ever again. Am very tempted to go see them at Laneway in Auckland but found out yesterday that they will be playing at The Dux here in Christchurch on Saturday 2 Feb!!! That’s what I call a homecoming.

Roots Manuva at The Bedford, Moorhouse Avenue, last night.

The covermount CD is New Order’s 1983 masterpiece “Power, Corruption & Lies” covered, Blue Monday revisited, and bonus tracks. Could have been a recipe for a disaster but you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Have a sneak preview of the tracks here.
Strangely enough, the LCD Soundsystem “Daft Punk is playing at my house” video eerily predicts the urban decay and red / yellow / green placard aesthetic of post-earthquake Christchurch. Spooky. See below for evidence…
