Thank you Claps and Guilt Ridden Pop – no idea how you came across us but we’re glad you did and we hope you don’t mind our loosely calling you an updated Minimal Wave band.

Whilst we’re on the subject of Minimal Wave, still no news on when or if any material from our favourite band of that period, Lufthansa Terminal, will be released but lots of information on the record label itself over at Dangerous Minds.

And that’s not the only correspondence we got this week.

Adam Macaulay of the Brighton, England duo Curxes emailed us about the painstakingly hand-crafted video that Roberta Fidora made for their new single “Haunted Gold”. Love the stonking beat and belting vocals. Modern cabaret disco at its very best! See the video below…

Anthonie Tonnon of Tono and the Finance Company got in touch to tell us that they’ll be playing a free show at Dux Live Friday 4 May with T54, Miniatures and Brown.

Which reminds me, the new EP by Miniatures is amazing. Fuzzy shoegaze never sounded so good. Unbelievably, the EP is a free download on their Bandcamp page. Fill your boots, as they say.

Listening to the TRAAMS track “Klaus” last week got me listening again to Soulwax’s “Nite Versions” album. And that led me to downloading the Radio Soulwax app. And that in turn got me listening to and watching “Introversy”. I must have been sleeping under a rock to have missed this first time round.

So here are 420 plus song introductions and accompanying animated album artwork. Good if you have a short attention span. Antagonising if you want to hear the whole track! You can’t help but love those Dewaele brothers can you?
